Red Bull Theater Revival of The Changeling Begins Tonight | Playbill

News Red Bull Theater Revival of The Changeling Begins Tonight Red Bull Theater kicks off its "season of scandal" Off-Broadway Dec. 26, with a revival of Thomas Middleton and William Rowley’s classic play, The Changeling. The 1622 Jacobean tragedy about a woman attempting to kill her husband was last seen on Broadway in 1964.

The Changeling, directed by Red Bull artistic director Jesse Berger, runs through Jan. 24, 2016, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in downtown Manhattan. An official opening night is set for Jan. 10.

The cast features Manoel Felciano, Christian Coulson, Sara Topham, With Bill Army, Michelle Beck, Justin Blanchard, Philippe Bowgen, Kimiye Corwin, Christopher McCann, Paul Niebanck, John Skelley, Sam Tsoutsouvas and Andrew Weems.

"Beatrice is in love with Alsemero — who is unfortunately not her fiancé," state production notes. "But when she employs her loathsome servant De Flores to bump off her betrothed, the price is her own virgin flesh. Together with a madcap subplot set in an insane asylum, this brilliant and rarely performed Jacobean tragedy explores the follies of love and the nature of madness."

The creative team includes Marion Williams (set design), Beth Goldenberg (costume design), Peter West (lighting design), Ryan Rumery (sound/music), Erin Kennedy Lunsford (hair/makeup) and J. David Brimmer (fight direction.)
