Rattlestick Theater has begun renovations at their West Village home, a two-floor building built in 1854 and occupied by the company since 1999. The $4.5 million renovation is scheduled to be completed by spring 2026. 

Changes will increase the venue's accessibility with the installation of an elevator, and also include the addition of new bathrooms, expanded dressing rooms, sound-proof flooring and windows, and an expanded lobby and ticket counter. The theatre will also transform into a responsive, flexible performance space that can be reshaped for each show, and host more community events and celebrations.

The renovation will make it possible for us to offer a responsive, flexible performance space that can transform for each show, and to host more community events and celebrations. As previously reported, Rattlestick's 2024-2025 season opened with the world premiere of Ethan Lipton's We Are Your Robots, directed by Leigh Silverman. The season will continue with the world premiere of Two Sisters Find a Box of Lesbian Erotica in the Woods, written by and starring Emma Horwitz and Bailey Williams. Directed by Tara Elliott, the co-production with New Georges will run March 28-April 26 at HERE.
