David Hare’s Straight Line Crazy officially opens its world-premiere engagement March 23 at London's The Bridge following previews that began March 16. Performances continue through June 18.
Tony winner Ralph Fiennes (Hamlet) heads the cast as Robert Moses with Tony winner Nicholas Hytner (The History Boys, Carousel) at the helm.
The company also features Alisha Bailey as Mariah Heller, Samuel Barnett as Ariel Porter, David Bromley as Stamford Fergus, Al Coppola as Walter McQuade, Siobhán Cullen as Finnuala Connell, Ian Kirkby as Lewis Mumford, Alana Maria as Shirley Hayes, Dani Moseley as Carol Ames, Guy Paul as Henry Vanderbilt, Helen Schlesinger as Jane Jacobs, Mary Stillwaggon Stewart as Nicole Sawyer, and Danny Webb as Governor Al Smith.
Fiennes stars as Moses, once one of the most powerful men in New York and the "master builder" of many new parks, bridges, and over 600 miles of expressways. Though never elected to office, he manipulated many with a mix of charm and intimidation.
Fiennes (Faith Healer), Hytner (One Man, Two Guvnors), and Hare (Skylight) previously collaborated on Hare's Beat the Devil, which ran at The Bridge in 2020.
Designs are by Bob Crowley with lighting by Jessica Hung Han Yun, sound by George Dennis, and music by George Fenton.
