The reading will be held July 23, 2018, at Symphony Space’s Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

Other one-night readings scheduled for the upcoming season include Shaw’s The Devil’s Disciple (January 22), Pygmalion (February 19), The Doctor’s Dilemma (May 21), Buoyant Billions (June 18), and Back to Methuselah (Part 1, October 22; Part 2, November 19). Readings of works by Shaw’s contemporaries also include The New Word by J. M. Barrie and O’Flaherty along with Shaw’s V.C. (September 24) and The Enchanted Cottage by Arthur Wing Pinero (December 17).

A five-week Off-Broadway presentation of Shaw's Heartbreak House will also be part of the new season. Performances begin August 28 at Theatre Row.

“We’re feeling very shiny about our upcoming season. Favoring audience demands, our Project Shaw series will be bringing some of Shaw’s most dynamic and provocative plays to the Upper West Side, along with some surprises including plays by Pinero, Barrie, and Maurine Watkins. These, along with our new play development workshops, full production, discussion groups, and educational programs are inspiring us to feel particularly optimistic…a rare commodity in today’s world climate,” said Artistic Director David Staller in a statement.

On April 30, Project Shaw will present A Shaw Concert at The Players!, an evening of music that Shaw enjoyed, including popular music of his time, works by Gilbert and Sullivan, and more. Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct the performance at the Players Club, located at 16 Gramercy Park South. Cast and ticket information will be announced shortly.
