Club Cumming presented a one-night-only reading of Paul Iacono's Almost Got 'Em! The Unauthorized Batman Villain Parody Musical June 7, and Playbill has the pics to prove it.
Directed by Rachel Klein (The Gospel According to Heather), the work is loosely adapted from the episode of Batman: The Animated Series titled "Almost Got 'Im!"
Almost Got 'Em! follows Batman's most notorious enemies as they exchange stories of who has come the closest to killing their mutual nemesis (while hiding from Batman and the police).
The musical features a book and lyrics by Iacono, with music by Shirely Walker, Danny Elfman, Stuart Balcomb, Wayne Coster, and Todd Hayen. Peter Saxe served as music director, and provided additional arrangements.
Set in a 1947 Provincetown beach house, the play unfolds over one sultry night as Tennessee Williams and a young Marlon Brando craft A Streetcar Named Desire together.
