Adapted from the 2007 horror comedy film of the same name, Teeth features a book and music by Jacobs and book and lyrics by Jackson, the latter a Pulitzer and Tony winner for A Strange Loop. The story follows evangelical Christian teenager Dawn O'Keefe, whose body bites back when men try to violate her. Prior to the New World Stages bow, the musical got a world premiere run at Playwrights Horizons that began performances February 21 and officially opened March 19.

Sarah Benson is back to direct after staging the world premiere, with Raja Feather Kelly also back to choreograph. In fact, the entire creative team has returned to reprise their work, including scenic designer Adam Rigg, costume designer Enver Chakartash, lighting designer Jane Cox (now newly joined by Stacey Derosier), sound designer Palmer Hefferan, special effects designer Jeremy Chernick, orchestrator Kris Kukul, music supervisor Julie McBride, music director Patrick Sulken, intimacy director Crista Marie Jackson, and fight director Robert Westley. Rob Pickens and Katie Gell are providing wig, hair, and makeup design, and Thomas Dieter is production stage manager.

Mark Gordon Pictures, Mickey Liddell, and Pete Shilaimon for LD Entertainment are also producing the current run.

Tickets are available at TeethTheMusical.com.
