Newly released production shots offer a first look at The Old Globe's new production of Kate Hamill's Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B, currently in previews at the San Diego company. James Vásquez is directing the work, a riff on literary detective Sherlock Holmes. Hamill's take follows a new age "steampunk hipster" (according to press notes) Shirley Holmes and her new roommate Joan Watson as they chase a supervillain in a modern-day Baker Street. The work premiered in 2021 at Kansas City Rep.

The cast features Ruibo Qian as Ms. Sherlock Holmes and Natalie Woolams-Torres as Ms. Joan Watson, along with Jenn Harris as Irene Adler, Mrs. Hudson, and others; and Nehal Joshi as Inspector Lestrade, Elliot Monk, and others. Casting is by Caparelliotis Casting.
The production features scenic design by Sean Fanning, costume design by Shirley Pierson, lighting design by Amanda Zieve, and sound design by Melanie Chen Cole. Marie Jahelka is production stage manager, and Evelyn G. Myers is assistant stage manager.
