News Photo Special: Celebrating Cynthia Nixon Emmy and Tony winner Cynthia Nixon is currently directing the New Group production of Mark Gerrard’s Steve at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Playbill.com offers a look back at a theatrical career that began with her award-winning performance in The Philadelphia Story at age 14.

Nixon made her stage debut in The Philadelphia Story, following up her award-winning performance by appearing in two Broadway shows simultaneously with Hurlyburly and The Real Thing.

Other notable credits include The Heidi Chronicles, Angels in America and Rabbit Hole.

In December, Cynthia will direct Staceyann Chin's newest solo show about motherhood, MotherStruck! at the Lynn Redgrave Theater.
