ABBA, one of the world’s most successful and enduring bands, was established in 1972 with Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The band members and their personal costume designer Owe Sandström worked closely with Madame Tussauds artists in creating their wax figures -- selecting the attire and dictating the look. The figures are dressed in hand-painted, exact replicas of their iconic performance garb from their 1975 video for “SOS” – matching white outfits, bell-bottomed pants and sky high platform boots.
Now celebrating 13 smash hit years and over 5,000 performances on Broadway at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44 Street), Mamma Mia! is one of the most successful musicals of all time anywhere in the world, the ninth longest running show in Broadway history, and one of only 5 musicals to have run for more than 10 years on Broadway.
