Squibb ("Nebraska"), who previously appeared at DTC in Dividing the Estate, departed the production due to professional conflicts.

"I am very disappointed that I won’t be there," Squibb said in a statement. "I do hope that we'll be able to do another production soon. I had a wonderful time with Dividing the Estate and I look forward to the opportunity to be back on the Dallas Theater Center stage."

Joel Ferrell directs Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play that will run through Nov. 16.

Jefferies will be joined by Hassan El-Amin as Hoke.

Jefferies has been seen on the DTC stage in The Blonde the Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead. Her numerous credits as a resident company member of the Alley Theatre in Houston include A Streetcar Named Desire, Angels in America and Horton Foote's The Orphans' Home Cycle.

According to DTC, "Told through vignettes detailing the shift in Southern racial attitudes between 1948 and 1973, Driving Miss Daisy chronicles the decades-long relationship between a stubborn, Southern matriarch and her proud, African-American chauffeur who journey from suspicion and mistrust to respect and affection."
