RuPaul's Drag Race star Nina West and Dan Amboyer of Younger and William & Catherine will join forces at the Green Room 42 for concert presentations of Channing/Tatum February 7–8. The new musical comedy is directed by Tye Blue (Titaníque).
West will play the late Tony winner Carol Channing (Hello, Dolly!), with Amboyer as film star Channing Tatum and DeMarius R. Copes (Some Like It Hot, Elf) as others.
The musical features an original book and score by Adam Overett (Popesical, My Life Is A Musical) and musical direction and orchestrations by Michael Ferrara (Spamalot, Titaníque). The story was co-conceived by Zachary Laks (Bright Colors, Bold Patterns).
According to press notes, Channing/Tatum unfolds when "movie star Channing Tatum gets trapped in the St. James Theatre, and has one night to learn 'how to Broadway.'" With the help of the ghost of Carol Channing, who, in this universe, dwells in the St. James Theatre, Tatum must work to rescue his own career and Channing's eternal spirit.
