The National Dance Institute will honor The Great Comet star Josh Groban at its 41st annual gala, which will take place April 24 at the PlayStation Theater in New York. Groban is being honored for his passionate support of arts education.
The 6 PM event will also honor NDI board member Arnold S. Penner and his wife, Madaleine Berley.
“I am in my suppertime of life,” NDI founder Jacques d’Amboise tells Playbill. “I was delighted to discover that I have an artistic brother, Josh Groban. Josh, a superb artist, is on the top of Mt. Everest for his belief and caring about the importance of children to be learning and engaged with the arts. Bravo to him!”
The fundraising event will include a live auction introduced by Alec Baldwin, as well as performances from NDI’s young dancers.
The National Dance Institute helps school children learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and respect, through immersive arts education programs.
