News Mr. No Jangles: Dancin' Will Not Step Into Broadway's Studio 54 Roundabout Theatre Company will not be producing a Broadway revival of Bob Fosse's Dancin' in 2011-12, after all.

"Due to scheduling conflicts with the artistic team this season, Dancin' has been cancelled and will be replaced with another show to be announced in the coming months," a spokesman confirmed on Aug. 30. "Studio 54 will undergo long-planned capital renovations to upgrade HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems, as well as other renovations during this time."

The fall 2011 slot in Roundabout's season at Studio 54 was being held for the fresh production of the 1978 dance revue of Fosse's choreography. Graciela Daniele was to direct this first Broadway revival of Dancin'. Creative consultation was to be by Fosse's daughter, Nicole Fosse.

Fosse is the Tony Award-winning choreographer who changed the way Broadway moved with such musicals as Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Chicago, Pippin and more.

The initial programming announcement of Dancin' came as a surprise to some, as the work of Fosse in revue form was seen on Broadway as recently as 2001 in the Best Musical Tony Award-winning Fosse, which recycled some material from Dancin'.

Fosse won the 1978 Tony for Best Choreography for Dancin', which was also nominated as Best Musical. Some of the the musical's signature numbers included "Crunchy Granola Suite," "Mr. Bojangles," "I Wanna Be a Dancin' Man" and "Sing, Sing, Sing." Fosse died in 1987 following a heart attack.
