News Monday Night Gala Fever! Angela Lansbury, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman Receive Starry Tributes Tonight Angela Lansbury and Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will be honored at two separate gala events Nov. 16. Both feature a starry line-up of guests and performers.

The York Theatre Company honors stage and screen icon Lansbury with the Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre at Guastavino’s in New York with an evening that includes a reception, dinner and a concert and award ceremony.

Among the line-up of guests are Klea Blackhurst, Mario Cantone, Len Cariou, Erin Davie, Melissa Errico, Victor Garber, Cady Huffman, James Earl Jones, Judy Kaye, Aaron Lazar, Mark Linn-Baker, Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye, Matt McGrath, Alan Menken, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Brad Oscar, Tom Rhoads, Betsy Wolfe, Karen Ziemba and The Yale Wiffenpoofs.

"We have tried for a number of years to make this event happen, and this time, the stars—and this star—aligned, and we are over the moon," commented York producing artistic director James Morgan in an earlier press statement. "She is the personification of lifetime achievement in musical theatre, and the ceremony will be a celebration of her 90th birthday."

In a separate celebration, Off-Broadway's Primary Stages annual gala honors Tony and Grammy-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the talented duo behind Hairspray. Bridget Everett, Ana Gasteyer, Annie Golden, emcee Jackie Hoffman, Nathan Lane, Caissie Levy, Billy Porter and Aaron Tveit are among the guest performers and speakers.

The gala, hosted at 583 Park Ave. in Manhattan, features musical numbers from Hairspray, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Catch Me If You Can and the TV series "Smash." "This year's gala will prove to be a 'must-see' evening featuring icons from stage, film and TV," commented Primary Stages artistic director Andrew Leynse in a press statement.
