The previously announced U.K. premiere production of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein has announced West End dates and venue.
It will begin performances September 28 prior to an official opening October 10 at the Garrick Theatre, following the previously announced out-of-town tryout at Newcastle's Theatre Royal, August 26–September 9.
Based on the 1974 film and co-written with Thomas Meehan, Brooks is reunited with Susan Stroman, who also directed and choreographed the show's Broadway bow in 2007. It is being produced in the U.K. by Brooks with Michael Harrison and Fiery Angel.
It will be designed by Beowulf Boritt, with costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Ben Cracknell, and sound by Gareth Owen. Musical supervision is by Glen Kelly, with orchestrations by Doug Besterman and musical direction by Andrew Hilton.
Casting is still to be announced; the casting director is Jill Green.
