Megan Hill, a recent Drama Desk Award nominee for her performance in Eddie and Dave, returns Off-Broadway this month in the world premiere of Crystal Skillman's monologue play, Open. Hill will play a character simply called The Magician, who is trying to save the woman she loves from dying, with a magic trick.

The production, directed by Jessi D. Hill, will play at The Tank June 7–22, co-presented by All for One Theater.

In Open, The Magician reveals she is attempting the impossible—to save the life of her lover, Jenny. And yet, is it possible that the more we believe in their love, the more The Magician's illusions are actually becoming real? The clock is ticking, the show must go on, and as impossible as it may seem, this magic act may be our last hope against a world filled with intolerance and hate.

Hill was recently seen Off-Broadway in Do You Feel Anger? and performed in Skillman’s play Cut. Skillman's other plays include Geek; King Kirby; Rain and Zoe Save the World; and Pulp Vérité. She is the book writer of Mary and Max, with composer-lyricist Bobby Cronin.

The world premiere of Open features lighting and scenic design by Sarah Johnston, sound design by Emma Wilk, and costume design by Becky Bodurtha.

In addition to the production, AFO is also presenting two staged workshop performances of Mister Miss America, written and performed by Neil D'Astolfo with direction by Noah Averbach-Katz. The free performances, presented as part of the company's Solo Collective developmental series, will be June 11 and 18, immediately following performances of Open.
