The York Theatre Company's production of Golden Rainbow—part of the Off-Broadway venue's Musicals in Mufti series—is presented September 23-October 1 at The Theater at St. Jean’s.

Directed by Stuart Ross with music direction by David Hancock Turner, the cast features Felipe Barbosa Bombonato (Les Misérables), Jonathan Brody (The Sorceress), Nick Cearley (The Skivvies, All Shook Up), Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde), Mara Davi (Dames at Sea), Max von Essen (An American in Paris, Evita), Danielle Lee Greaves (Parade), Jillian Louis (It Shoulda Been You), Gina Milo (Les Miserables), Benjamin Pajak (The Music Man), and Maria Wirries (Dear Evan Hansen).

Based on Arnold Schulman’s play A Hole in the Head, Golden Rainbow has a book by Ernest Kinoy and music and lyrics by Walter Marks and follows a single dad trying to achieve success in Las Vegas while raising his bright and savvy son. His late wife's sister arrives and tries to bring stability to the boy's life, but unintentionally falls in love with her brother-in-law.

The musical opened on Broadway February 4, 1968, and ran nearly a year starring married couple Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé.

The production also has lighting design by Garett Pembrook, projections and sound design by Peter Brucker, and casting by Michael Cassara. The team also includes production manager Aaron Simms, production coordinator Noah Glaister, production stage manager Hailey Delaney, assistant stage manager Carson Ferguson, and company manager Tori Calderon-Caswell.

The Musicals in Mufti series presents musical theatre gems in simply staged, book-in-hand concert formats. Mufti means “in street clothes, without the trappings of a full production.”
