News Mary Zimmerman-Helmed Guys and Dolls Transfers to LA The Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of Guys and Dolls, directed by Tony Award winner Mary Zimmerman, is currently in previews at Los Angeles' Wallis Annenberg Center. The production will officially open Dec. 4 for a limited engagement through Dec. 20.

The cast of Guys and Dolls includes Alyssa Birrer, Tyler Matthew Burk, Tony DeBruno, Richard Elmore, Al Espinosa, Robert Vincent Frank, Rodney Gardiner, Kristin Glaeser, Richard Howard, Kate Hurster, Briawna Jackson, Jeremy Peter Johnson, Sean Jones, David Kelly, Eugene Ma, Robin Goodrin Nordli, Erin O’Connor, Daniel T. Parker, Britney Simpson, Jeff Skowron, Jonathan Luke Stevens, K. T. Vogt, Joe Wegner and Christopher Henry Young.

The show features a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser.

Guys and Dolls is described as such: "A fly-by-night gambler attempts to woo a Salvation Army missioner for a $1,000 bet. Meanwhile, a beleaguered showgirl tries to hook her fiancé of 14 years, the founder of "the oldest, established, permanent, floating crap game in New York."

Guys and Dolls features scenic design by Daniel Ostling, costume design by Mara Blumenfeld, lighting design by T.J. Gerckens, sound design by Ray Nardelli, casting by Joy Dickson, voice and text direction by Susan Sweeney, fight direction by U. Jonathan Toppo, stage management by Jeremy Eisen and assistant stage management by Roxana Khan.

On Broadway Zimmerman wrote and directed Metamorphoses in 2002. She earned the 2002 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for her work. She has also adapted and directed such works as Treasure Island at Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago, The White Snake at the Old Globe in San Diego and more.
