Broadway News Mary-Louise Parker Will Return to Broadway in Adam Rapp’s The Sound Inside The Band’s Visit Tony winner David Cromer directs the production, which premiered at Williamstown Theatre Festival last year.

Following a 2018 world premiere at Williamstown Theatre Festival, Adam Rapp’s The Sound Inside will open on Broadway this fall. Performances will be begin September 14 at Studio 54, with opening night set for October 17. David Cromer, who earned a Tony Award last year for The Band’s Visit, directs.

Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker will reprise her performance as tenured Ivy League professor Bella, reuniting with Will Hochman, who makes his Broadway debut as Christopher, a talented yet mysterious student who becomes entangled in Bella’s life when she faces a troubling challenge.

The production, which marks Rapp's Broadway debut as well, features sets by Alexander Woodward, costumes by David Hyman, lighting design by Heather Gilbert, sound design and original music by Daniel Kluger, and projections by Aaron Rhyne.

Parker returns to Broadway after appearing in such shows as Heisenberg, The Snow Geese, Hedda Gabler, Reckless, Prelude to a Kiss, and Proof (for which she won her Tony). Hochman's stage credits include Sweat at Los Angeles' Center Theatre Group and Dead Poets Society Off-Broadway.

Jeffrey Richards produces the Broadway engagement with Lincoln Center Theater (which commissioned the piece) and Rebecca Gold.
