The final two productions of Donmar Warehouse’s 30th birthday season will be the European premiere of Lynn Nottage's Clyde's and a mounting of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth starring David Tennant (Lobby Hero, Good, Doctor Who).

Directed by Lynette Linton, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Nottage's Clyde's will begin performances October 13 prior to an official opening October 19 at the London venue. Set in a Pennsylvania truck stop run by a formerly incarcerated staff, the Tony-nominated work will continue through December 2. The production will also have designs by Frankie Bradshaw, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, sound design by George Dennis, movement direction by Kane Husbands, and music by composer Duramaney Kamara. Nottage and Linton reunite after the Donmar's acclaimed production of Sweat, which subsequently transferred to the West End.

Max Webster will direct the Tennant-led Macbeth, set for December 8, 2023-February 10, 2024, with opening night December 15. This production of the Scottish play will also have sound design by Gareth Fry and movement direction by Shelley Maxwell.

Additional casting for both productions will be announced at a later time.

The theatre also announced a schools’ tour of Shakespeare’s Henry V, directed by former Donmar Resident Assistant Director Dadiow Lin and the forthcoming launch of a new paper by climate dramaturg and Donmar Associate Artist Dr. Zoë Svendsen. Svendsen and the Donmar, together with freelance artists, have worked to create a new, climate-conscious model for production, which they intend to make available to the industry for no charge.

Noël Coward’s Private Lives continues at the Donmar through May 27. Michael Longhurst’s final season of shows before he steps down as artistic director next year will be announced in the fall.
