Atlantic Records has released a new recording of Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited," featuring Heidi Blickenstaff, who played Mary Jane Healy when Jagged Little Pillreopened on Broadway following the pandemic and now plays the same role in the North American tour of the musical.
This new track joins Atlantic Records’
previously released, Grammy-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording. Listen to “Uninvited,” which also features Jagged Tony nominee Kathryn Gallagher and the Broadway company, on Spotify. The original Broadway cast recording is available here.
The North American tour, which began this fall in Las Vegas and Los
Angeles, is currently playing a four-week
engagement at BroadwaySF’s Golden Gate Theatre through November 6.
Jagged Little Pill has a book by Diablo Cody and songs
by Morissette, from her 1995 album. The work opened on Broadway
December 5, 2019, after beginning previews November 3. While sidelined
during the Broadway shutdown, the production was nominated for 15 2020
Tony Awards, winning Best Book of a Musical for Cody and Best
Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for Lauren
Patten.
The musical reopened in October 2021 following the shutdown and
closed December 17, 2021. The closing followed a number of COVID-related
performance cancellations and postponements.
The Diane Paulus-helmed production features choreography by Sidi
Larbi Cherkaoui; music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by
Tom Kitt; music direction by Bryan Perri; sets by Tony nominee Riccardo
Hernández; costumes by Emily Rebholz; lighting by Tony nominee Justin
Townsend; sound design by Jonathan Deans; projection and video design by
Lucy Mackinnon; and hair, wig, and make-up design by J. Jared Janas.
Lupita Nyong'o, Katrina Lenk, Jelani Alladin, and more were on hand to celebrate the October 31 opening night of Michael R. Jackson and Anna K. Jacobs' new musical.
