Atlantic Records has released a new recording of Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited," featuring Heidi Blickenstaff, who played Mary Jane Healy when Jagged Little Pill reopened on Broadway following the pandemic and now plays the same role in the North American tour of the musical.
This new track joins Atlantic Records’ previously released, Grammy-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording. Listen to “Uninvited,” which also features Jagged Tony nominee Kathryn Gallagher and the Broadway company, on Spotify. The original Broadway cast recording is available here.
Jagged Little Pill has a book by Diablo Cody and songs by Morissette, from her 1995 album. The work opened on Broadway December 5, 2019, after beginning previews November 3. While sidelined during the Broadway shutdown, the production was nominated for 15 2020 Tony Awards, winning Best Book of a Musical for Cody and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for Lauren Patten.
The musical reopened in October 2021 following the shutdown and closed December 17, 2021. The closing followed a number of COVID-related performance cancellations and postponements.
The Diane Paulus-helmed production features choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui; music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Tom Kitt; music direction by Bryan Perri; sets by Tony nominee Riccardo Hernández; costumes by Emily Rebholz; lighting by Tony nominee Justin Townsend; sound design by Jonathan Deans; projection and video design by Lucy Mackinnon; and hair, wig, and make-up design by J. Jared Janas.
