Linedy Genao (Bad Cinderella) and Sasha Merci (Righteous Thieves) will star in a February 9 industry presentation of Dominican American playwright Erlina Ortiz's new play La Egoista.

The invitation-only reading, presented by Edgewood Entertainment, will be directed by Tatyana-Marie Carlo (Vámonos). Show time is 1 PM at Manhattan Theatre Club on W. 43rd St.

La Egoista explores the bond between siblings, the cost of caregiving, and the fine line between selfish and selfless.

The world premiere was previously produced by Actors Theatre of Louisville, following its initial commission and development period by Live and In Color. La Egoista won the 2022 National Latine Playwrights Award.

Edgewood Entertainment is a producing entity focused on supporting works by historically marginalized people, including the BIPOC and LBGTQIA+ communities, female artists, and other stories not often told on stage.
