The lawsuit between producer Scott Rudin and ad agency SpotCo has been dismissed, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter.
Both parties filed a stipulation of discontinuance with prejudice earlier this month, which puts a permanent end to the case. Details of a settlement were not disclosed.
The original 2020 suit was filed by SpotCo against Rudin. The agency, which frequently worked on Rudin productions, alleged a significant number of outstanding invoices due for several of his productions, including The Music Man, To Kill a Mockingbird, and West Side Story. Rudin then countersued, claiming SpotCo had not distributed payments as agreed in their oral contract.
Rudin has since stepped away from Broadway producing following allegations of abuse towards his staff and unsafe working conditions.
Both SpotCo and Rudin have declined to comment on the terms of the settlement. All productions involved within the lawsuit have since closed, save the revival of The Music Man, which is set to shutter January 1, 2023. Following the allegations against Rudin, Kate Horton took over as executive producer of the Tony nominated revival.
