Washer/Dryer (Off-Broadway at The Beckett Theatre). Nandita Shenoy's farce examines the pressures of modern-day marriage against the backdrop of New York City. Ma-Yi Theater Company presents the New York premiere, directed by Benjamin Kamine. According to press notes, "Sonya and Michael's recent elopement in Vegas seemed like a dream come true for both of them until they try living together in Sonya's Manhattan studio apartment. As they discover that they haven't been entirely honest with each other or themselves, their secrets come home to roost along with an intrusive mother, the co-op's strict Board president, a harsh best friend, and a fabulous washer-dryer." A View From the Bridge (Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre). The Young Vic's Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge is helmed by acclaimed Belgian director Ivo van Hove. The cast includes Mark Strong (as Eddie Carbone), Nicola Walker (as Eddie's wife Beatrice), Phoebe Fox (as his niece Catherine), Michael Zegen (Marco), Russell Tovey (Rodolpho), Richard Hansell (Louis) and Michael Gould (Alfieri). The Young Vic production premiered in April 2014 to ecstatic reviews and instantly sold out its initial engagement. The production subsequently transferred to London's West End, where it recently concluded another sold-out run. The production won Olivier Awards for Best Revival, Best Director and actor Strong.
