Broadway News Kristolyn Lloyd Joins Broadway Revival of 1776 October 25

The performer succeeds Crystal Lucas-Perry as founding father John Adams in the Roundabout-A.R.T co-production.

Kristolyn Lloyd, who made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Dear Evan Hansen, returns to the Main Stem in the Roundabout/A.R.T. revival of 1776 beginning October 25. Lloyd succeeds Crystal Lucas-Perry in the role of John Adams as Lucas-Perry departs the production to join the cast of the Broadway premiere of Ain't No Mo'. 

Jeffrey L. Page and Diane Paulus co-direct the Sherman Edwards-Peter Stone musical about the founding fathers on the brink of signing the Declaration of Independence. The musical began previews at Roundabout's American Airlines Theatre September 16, and officially opened October 6. The Broadway production features a racially and ethnically diverse cast, composed entirely of performers who identify as female, nonbinary, and trans.

The cast also includes Gisela Adisa as Robert Livingston, Nancy Anderson as George Read, Becca Ayers as Col. Davis as Thomas Jefferson, Mehry Eslaminia as Charles Thomson, Joanna Glushak as Stephen Hopkins, Shawna Hamic as Richard Henry Lee, Eryn LeCroy as Martha Jefferson/Dr. Lyman Hall, Liz Mikel as John Hancock, Patrena Murray as Benjamin Franklin, Oneika Phillips as Joseph Hewes, Lulu Picart as Samuel Chase, Sara Porkalob as Edward Rutledge, Sushma Saha as Judge James Wilson, Brooke Simpson as Roger Sherman, Salome B. Smith as Courier, Sav Souza as Dr. Josiah Bartlett, Jill Vallery as Caesar Rodney, and Shelby Acosta, Ariella Serur, Grace Stockdale, Dawn L. Troupe, and Imani Pearl Williams as standbys.
