Jade Jones, who played Belle in the Olney Theatre Center production of Beauty and the Beast, also has a passion for hip-hop music and songwriting and will perform a hip-hop cabaret with a full band and DJ celebrating the release of their mixtape, Hi, When I Wrote This.
Jones, who will perform at Manhattan's 54 Below September 10 at 9:30 PM, will be joined onstage by accompanist, vocalist, and composer Nygel D. Robinson, Tendell “BUZZ” Bird on drums, Drew Cooper on guitar, and DJ Jordana “Jabrenica” Abrenica. Robinson also provides music direction.
Performing under the name Litty Official, Jones' mixtape, available for streaming beginning September 10, blends soul and trap music in a way that salutes old-school R&B and new-school hip-hop. At the 54 Below mixtape release party, they will play their original songs and perform numbers from the artists that have inspired their music.
