Open Jar Studios will host an invitation-only reading of new dance musical When We Touch November 16. The historical dance narrative set in 1989 Berlin one week before the fall of the Berlin wall features music and lyrics by queer artist LP. Reed Luplau will direct the reading of his original work, which will also feature his choreography. Musical arrangements are by Jacob Yates, the project's co-creator.
When We Touch follows Elias, the queer son of a German agent one week before the fall of the Berlin wall. As his mother works on the defense lines, Elias, yearning for liberation, bands together with his defiant friends and his lover Jasper to conceive a plan of escape.
