Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3 will present the world premiere of the new musical In the Green, featuring a book and score by Grace McLean (who will also star). Performances will begin June 8 at the Claire Tow Theater; opening night is set for June 27.
Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans (LCT3's Bull in a China Shop, A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes) will direct the new show about Hildegard von Bingen, a woman who, before she became one of Medieval history's most renowned healers and saints, was secluded in a cell with her mentor Jutta.

The cast will feature Rachael Duddy, Ashley Pérez Flanagan, and Hannah Whitney—each playing von Bingen—with McLean as Jutta. Mia Pak rounds out the cast as Shadow/Sigewize.
McLean was last seen in MCC Theater's Alice By Heart. Her additional credits include Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, Brooklynite, The Last Goodbye, and The World Is Round. She is a familiar face at Lincoln Center, having received the performing arts organization's 2017 Emerging Artist and Hunt Family Award.
The production will feature sets by Kristen Robinson, costumes by Oana Botez, lighting design by Barbara Samuels, sound design by Nicholas Pope, and orchestrations by McLean and music supervisor Kris Kukul. Casting is by Henry Russell Bergstein.
Performances are currently scheduled at Lincoln Center through August 4.
