News Honor, Shakespeare Play Musicalized and Relocated to Japan, Presented in NY Today The National Asian Artists Project stages the adaptation of As You Like It.

National Asian Artists Project, Baayork Lee's New York-based theatre company that seeks mainstream acceptance for Asian-American actors and other theatre artists, is collaborating with the Obie-winning Prospect Theater Company to present Honor, a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It, with the story relocated to the feudal Japan.

Scheduled for 8 PM September 10 at the TimesCenter in the New York Times building on Eighth Avenue at 40th Street, Honor is being offered in a concert-style presentation as part of NAAP's Rediscover Series and Prospect's IGNITE Series.

The musical has music and lyrics by Peter Mills, and book by Mills and Cara Reichel. The production will be directed by Cara Reichel and music directed by Yan Li.

The cast features Raul Aranas, Cáitlín Burke, Eymard Cabling, Karl Josef Co, Steven Eng, Ariel Estrada, Diana Huey, Brian Jose, Whit K. Lee, Mel Maghuyop, Toren Nakamura, Manna Nichols, Koh Mochizuki, Romney Piamonte, Toshiji Takeshima, Robert Torigoe, Scott Watanabe and EJ Zimmerman.

The evening also includes members of the NAAP Chorus: Ya Han Chang, David Eng, Francine Espiritu, Andy Danh, Natsuko Hirano, Kennedy Kanagawa, Karin Kawamoto, Jung Kim, Yuko Kudo, Colin Miyamoto, Nathan Napier, Andrew Sakaguchi, Riza Takahashi, Sam Tanabe, Isabelle Van Vleet, and Viet Vo; and members of the NAAP Kids Theater Club.

As You Like It has been musicalized several times, notably as All Shook Up on Broadway in 2004.
