At this year's Miscast gala, the actress told Playbill.com, "I have an idea for another play [to write] — totally unrelated — but Ann was not an 'idea.' Ann was a passionate quest, and I'm going to do it again because some people want to film it, so I'll probably do it in Austin and perhaps in Los Angeles."

The critically acclaimed one-woman show played through June 30, 2013, at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Benjamin Endsley Klein directed Taylor in the play's Broadway bow. She received the 2013 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance and was nominated for a 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance and Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance.

The play is described as "an intimate, no-holds-barred portrait of Ann Richards, the legendary Governor of Texas. This inspiring and hilarious new play brings us face to face with a complex, colorful and captivating character bigger than the state from which she hailed."

It was previously reported that Annie Potts (Pippin, God of Carnage) would star in a forthcoming national tour of Ann.
