Gail Papp and George C. Wolfe

Gail Merrifield Papp and George C. Wolfe will take to the intimate stage of Joe's Pub September 18 to discuss Papp's upcoming memoir, Public/Private: My Life with Joe Papp at The Public Theater.

Wiley Hausam will moderate the discussion, which begins at 6:30 PM.

Papp's upcoming memoir, which arrives October 17, details her life in the theatre as the Director of New Works Development for the Public Theater and the wife of late Public Theater Founder Joe Papp. Playwright and director Wolfe, former artistic director of the downtown theatre company, shepherded the Public following September 11, 2001, and its devastating effects on the city and the theatre community.

David Amram, who worked alongside Joe Papp as Shakespeare in the Park's composer for its first decade, will provide a musical interlude.
