International News Full Cast Announced for English Language Premiere of Farewell Mister Haffmann

The production translates the immensely successful French play by Jean-Philippe Daguerre.

The upcoming English premiere of Jean-Philippe Daguerre’s Farewell Mister Haffmann, set to play the Bath Theatre Royal later this year, has announced complete casting.

The production will star Alexander Hanson, Lisa Dillon Ciarán Owens, Josefina Gabrielle, and Nigel Lindsay. Translated by Jeremy Sams, and directed by Lindsay Posner, the production will begin performances August 24, and run through September 23. Opening night is set for August 31.

Originally named Adieu Monsieur Haffmann, the play is one of the longest-running pieces in France, receiving four Molière Awards, including Best New Play, and a film adaptation starring Daniel Auteil.

Set in 1942 Paris during Nazi occupation, the play centers on a Jewish shop owner and his long standing employee as they change roles in an attempt to survive occupation with their personal and professional lives intact.

The Bath Theatre Royal production will feature set and costume design by Paul Wills, lighting design by Peter Mumford, and sound design and original music by Giles Thomas, with casting by Serena Hill.
