The Frank Wildhorn-Leslie Bricusse-Steve Cuden musical Jekyll & Hyde opened on Broadway April 28, 1997, at the Plymouth Theatre (known today as the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre). Starring Robert Cuccioli, Linda Eder, and Christiane Noll, the production would run through January 7, 2001.

The musical based on Robert Louis Stephenson's gothic thriller was recently announced to make its screen debut. Oscar-winning Birdman scribe Alexander Dinelaris (Broadway's On Your Feet!) is writing the screenplay for the upcoming film, which he will also produce.
In addition to its Broadway premiere, Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis and Deborah Cox headlined a 2013 revival. The original Broadway production was also filmed for a television release with David Hasselhoff in the title role(s).
