From Ballet to Broadway From Ballet to Broadway With Robert Fairchild The former principal dancer at New York City Ballet made his Broadway debut in An American in Paris in 2015.

Robert Fairchild is a Tony Award nominee for his Broadway debut in An American in Paris. The Tony-winning musical, directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, had its West End premiere filmed and will air as part of PBS' Great Performances November 2 (streaming on PBS.com November 3).

But Fairchild made his name at New York City Ballet, joining in 2006 and becoming a principal dancer in 2009. After 10 years with NYCB, Fairchild was prepared for his move from ballet to Broadway and into choreography, recently choreographing and starring in Off-Broadway's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
