"I wrote this song to try to capture some of the frustration and anger that my peers and I feel in the midst of the injustices being suffered by people of color. I believe that art has a way of reaching and influencing people in a way that nothing else can," said Wilkie Ferguson, who wrote and produced the song.

The song, which features spoken word poetry by Watts, as well as vocals by Davis, James and Ferguson, was created as a demo following the decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the death of unarmed African American teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO.

"I recorded it on a mic at the Lunt-Fontanne, Morgan recorded in her studio here in NYC, Frenchie recorded in Atlanta, and Wilkie has been doing everything from Miami," Watts said in a statement. "Though this can be an uncomfortable topic of discussion for many people, I believe it is a discussion that must be had. I'm just glad the conversation is continuing through art."
