The Berkshire Theatre Group has announced a new weekly lottery for its revival of Fiorello!, which opened Off-Broadway September 9. The initiative is called FREEdom for the People—inspired by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia’s legacy—and will offer a select number of theatregoers the opportunity to see the acclaimed show for free.
Kicking off September 20 at 5 PM, the FREEdom for the People lottery will offer patrons the chance to win one of ten free pairs of tickets to that evening’s 7 PM performance by submitting their name to the BTG staff member located outside the East 13th Street Theater. Winners will then be announced at 5:30 PM. The lottery will be held again September 28 and October 5, this time starting at noon, with the winners announced at 12:30 PM. There is a limit of one entry per day per person, and winners must be present at the time of drawing to claim their tickets.
BTG’s revival of Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick, George Abbott and Jerome Weidman’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Fiorello! began previews Off-Broadway September 4, marking the group’s Off-Broadway debut as well as the first full-scale revival of the musical in New York.
