Collectively titled The Apple Family Plays: Scenes From Life in the Country, the four plays are each set on the night they opened at the Public Theater in New York, and deal with major political or historical events. They debuted annually 2010-2013, That Hopey Changey Thing in 2010, Sweet and Sad in 2011, Sorry in 2012, and Regular Singing in 2013. The plays were aired nationally in the U.S. beginning in October, 2014.
For the European tour they will be presented in repertory on successive evenings and directed by the author. First stop will be the Find Festival in Berlin, Germany.

The tour is being produced by David Eden, executive producer for David Eden Productions, and co-produced and general managed by Tim Smith for Pemberley Productions.
The tour will continue with stops at The May International Festival in Weisbaden, Germany; The Brighton Festival in the United Kingdom; and the Vienna Festival in Austria where the tour will conclude on May 23. Coming along on the tour will be original company members Maryann Plunkett (Barbara), Jay O. Sanders (Richard), Jon DeVries (Benjamin) and Sally Murphy (Jane). They will be joined by new cast members Mariann Mayberry (Marian) and Jesse Pennington (Tim).
