Austin Pendleton, the original Motel in Fiddler on the Roof and director of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Between Riverside and Crazy, will direct the production, which is scheduled to run Nov. 16-Dec 13, starring George Morfogen as Dr. Rank.

The play had its U.S. premiere in 1989 at Brooklyn Academy of Music, but was performed in Norwegian.

The 2015-16 season will continue with developmental workshops of two new plays in the spring of 2016: the world premiere of Israel Horowitz's Out of the Mouths of Babes starring Oscar-winner Estelle Parsons and Judith Ivey, plus Nightwalker, a new play by Matt Williams, co-creator of hit television series "Home Improvement," "Roseanne" and others.

The season will kick off with Off-Broadway premiere of Adam Seidel's dark comedy Catch the Butcher, directed by Valentina Fratti, Oct. 1 to Nov. 7.

Located on Commerce Street in New York's Greenwich Village, Cherry Lane Theatre has produced a succession of early plays by writers whose names have lent distinction to the American and international literary and dramatic treasuries dating back to the 1920s: F. Scott Fitzgerald, W.H. Auden, Gertrude Stein, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, Harold Pinter and many more. Angelina Fiordellisi is Artistic Director, Seri Lawrence is Literary Manager and Janio Marrero is Facility Director.
