Preliminary casting has been revealed for the Massachusetts festival's summer readings and workshops.

Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) has revealed preliminary casting for its 2024 summer season, including its Fridays@3 reading series, workshops, and playwright-in-residence readings. 

Among the scheduled workshops is Marshall Pailet and Ethan Slater's Marcel on the Train, presented July 30-31 with Pailet directing. The cast will feature Julie Benko as Berthe, Maddie Corman as Etiennette, Peter Grosz as Henri, Noah Robbins as Adolphe, Aaron Serotsky as The Man, and Slater as Marcel. The workshop is produced by Mix and Match Productions (Maxwell Beer and Mitch Marois). Marcel on the Train follows world-famous mime Marcel Marceau decades before fame as he joins the French resistance, saving Jewish children from the Nazis by smuggling them on the train to safety. 

Workshops also include Alone & Alive, which is written and performed by Joel Waggoner and presented July 18-20. Brandon Ivie will direct the solo variety show about figuring out who you are. 

The Fridays@3 reading series will kick off July 12 with Benjamin Benne's at the very bottom of a body of water, directed by Cat Rodríguez. The cast includes Annie Henk as Marina, Natsuko Hirano as Yoko, Emma Ramos as Rosa Luz/Lulu, and Daisuke Tsuji as Hiroshi, with Leah Getz reading stage directions.

Beth Hyland's SYLVIA SYLVIA SYLVIA will follow July 19, with direction by Caitlin Sullivan. The cast will feature Carmen Zilles as Sally, Noah Keyishian as Theo/BBC Interviewer, and Madeline Wise as Sylvia/Eva, with Ella Pennington reading stage directions. Additional casting is to be announced. 

Melis Aker's Indigo Dreams will be presented July 26, with direction by Kate Whoriskey. The cast includes Olivia AbiaAssi as Ayse, Delfin Gökhan Meehanas as Zeynep/Sara, Nicole Shaloub as Zehra/Leyla/Investor 1, and Nazli Sarpkaya as Azra/Dina/Investor 2/Coordinator, with Laurynn Starkey reading stage directions.

Sofia Alvarez's KILL CORP will close the Fridays@3 series August 2, with a cast that features Amelia Alvarez as Emily/Pregnant Woman 1, Dylan Baker as Doctor/The Big Guy, Nadine Malouf as Kennedy/Pregnant Woman 2, Ronald Peet as Paul/Doula, and Helen Cespedes as Marie, with Genevieve Simon reading stage directions. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. Portia Krieger will direct.

Also newly announced is a reading of White Bitches in Delhi, penned by WTF Playwright-in-Residence Ellis Stump and Neeta Thadani. The work is created by Stump and directed by Thadani, with consultation from Zi Alikhan. The cast includes Caitlyn Marr as Sienna, Yasmin Pascall as Ridhi, and Aaron Roitman as Jensen, with Michael Berbano reading stage directions. Additional casting is to be announced. The work follows two privileged Americans studying abroad in India who use Shaadi.com, a real matchmaking app, to help their desi friend find true love (and pay off their student loans with the dowry money). 

As previously reported, WTF's 2024 summer season also includes Sara Porkalob’s Dragon Mama, Part II of The Dragon Cycle, theworld premiere of David IvesPamela Palmer, Rachel Bloom's Death, Let Me Do My Show, a new comedy offering from Tony winner Alex Edelman, and more.
