Broadway couple Drew Gehling (Waitress) and Julia Mattison (Godspell) tied the knot September 16 in a summer camp-themed celebration, People reports. The pair was inspired by the film Wet Hot American Summer to plan three days of camp activities in the Hudson Valley region in New York.

"I got to marry the love of my life @drewgehling at Summer Camp," Mattison wrote on Instagram. "We played music with our friends and family all weekend and laughed until we hurt, we zip-lined into the lake on the morning of our wedding day, and ended the day playing Street Fighter and eating gushers and laughing some more."

Gehling is known for originating the role of Dr. Pomatter in Waitress. Mattison was seen in the 2011 Broadway revival of Godspell, and she co-wrote the score for the upcoming Death Becomes Her musical.

The pair met in 2017 while filming a web series. At that time, friends Andrew Kober (Beetlejuice) and Sarah Chase (First Date) had been planning to set them up. Kober and Chase officiated the September 16 ceremony. Aside from the ceremony, guests (including Broadway favorites like Sara Bareilles and Darren Criss) got to take part in camp-themed activities—including kayaking, zip-lining, swimming, and a talent show.

Prior to the wedding, Gehling wrote a tribute his now-wife, saying, "I love her a lot. I think she’s brilliant. I also get to marry her this Saturday. Shower her with love today and every day because we’re the lucky ones who bask in the glow of her light."
