Don Stephenson (Titanic, The Producers, Trouble in Mind) and newcomer Caden Brauch will star as Doc Brown and Marty McFly, respectively, in the forthcoming North American tour of the Broadway hit, Back to the Future: The Musical.
Additional casting will be announced for the upcoming tour, which officially launches in June at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio, following previews at Proctors in Schenectady, New York. The tour will subsequently play over 25 cities during the 2024-2025 season with more dates to be added.
Based on the 1985 Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film about teenager Marty McFly—who is accidentally transported back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by Dr. Emmett Brown—the musical has a book by Bob Gale, new music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film, including “The Power of Love” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
Back to the Future: The Musical made its world premiere at the Manchester Opera House in March 2020. The West End production opened in London September 13, 2021, at the Adelphi Theatre
(where it continues) and subsequently won the Best New Musical Olivier
Award. The Broadway production, which opened in August 2023, currently plays the
Winter Garden Theatre.
