Married stage vets Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray, 9 to 5) and Ace Young (Grease, Hair) will co-star in a new production of A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline. Produced by Art Lab and College Light Opera Company, the production is set to run March 17-19 at CLOC's Lucas Hall in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
Penned by Dean Regan, the work chronicles Patsy Cline as she climbs to stardom from small town Virginia to Carnegie Hall. The score comprises the legend’s greatest hits, including “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “Crazy” and “I Fall To Pieces.”
The production will be directed by Meg Fofonoff (Amour, First Date) with music direction by Sean Mayes (Hadestown, MJ).
"Patsy was a woman ahead of her time and truly changed the course of country music," say producers in a statement. "She lit up the stage with her honesty and passion. So, as she would say, 'Come on in, sit right down and make yourself at home.'"
The original production of A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline was presented by the Arts Club Theatre Company in 1991.
