Dave Thomas Brown, who made his Broadway debut in American Psycho, returns to The Great White Way beginning February 20 in the Tony-winning The Book of Mormon at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.
Brown steps into the role of Elder Price, the part created by Tony nominee Andrew Rannells and most recently played by Nic Rouleau. Brown was seen Off-Broadway in The Legend of Georgia McBride and Heathers, as well as in the national tour of The Bridges of Madison County.
The Tuesday performance also marks the return of Cody Jamison Strand, who again takes on the part of Elder Cunningham, succeeding Brian Sears. Strand previously made his Broadway debut in the musical and also starred in the national tour.
The current Broadway cast also includes Nikki Renée Daniels as Nabulungi, Stephen Ashfield as Elder McKinley, and Billy Eugene Jones as Mafala Hatimbi.
South Park creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to The Book of Mormon, which earned nine Tony Awards in 2011, including those for Best Book, Best Score, and Best Musical, as well as Best Direction for Parker and Casey Nicholaw.
