International News Courtney Bowman and Andy Barke Join West End Pretty Woman The Musical

The musical, based on the film of the same name, is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.

The West End production of Pretty Woman The Musical has extended through April 2023, with original stars Aimie Atkinson and Danny Mac remaining as romantic comedy icons Vivian and Edward. Starting November 15, they will be joined by Courtney Bowman (Legally Blonde, Six) as Vivian's best friend Kit De Luca, and Andy Barke, an original member of the West End company taking over the role of Happy Man/Mr. Thompson.

The production will reunite Bowman and Atkinson, both beloved performers from SIX the Musical; Atkinson originated the role of Katharine Howard on the West End, and Bowman took over the role of Anne Boleyn for the second West End production.

Ensemblist Danny Clift will also join the company, which will continue to include John Addison, Jemma Alexander, Becky Anderson, Matt Bateman, Patrick Barrett, Robertina Bonano, Oliver Brenin, Alex Charles, Ben Darcy, Hannah Ducharme, Elishia Edwards, Tom Andrew Hargreaves, Antony Hewitt, Helen Hill, Mark Holden, Elly Jay, Matt Jones, Kurt Kansley, Georgia Kleopa, Annabelle Laing, Will Luckett, Curtis Patrick, Hassun Sharif, Cilla Silvia, and Charlotte Elisabeth Yorke. John Addison will continue in the role of Philip Stuckey, and Mark Holden will continue in the role of James Morse.

Directed and choreographed by two-time Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, Pretty Woman features music and lyrics by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance and a book by Garry Marshall and the film’s screenwriter, J.F. Lawton. Also included in the score is Roy Orbison and Bill Dee’s hit song "Oh, Pretty Woman."

The production features scenic design by David Rockwell, costumes by Tom Rogers from the original Broadway designs by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Philip S. Rosenberg, sound design by John Shivers, hair design by Josh Marquette, and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Will Van Dyke.

The musical made its world premiere at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in March 2018 before transferring to Broadway's Nederlander Theatre. The German production opened in Hamburg at the Stage Theater an der Elbe in September 2019. The West End production opened February 2020 at the Piccadilly Theatre before closing due to COVID-19. It returned at its new home July 8, 2021.
