The complete cast is set for the Young Vic’s upcoming presentation of Death of a Salesman, beginning performances May 1 at the London venue. As previously announced, The Wire star Wendell Pierce (in his U.K. stage debut) and Olivier winner Sharon D. Clarke (Caroline, or Change) will take on the roles of Willy and Linda Loman in the Arthur Miller drama, with Arinzé Kene (Girl From the North Country) as Biff.
Joining them will be Jennifer Saayeng and Matthew Seadon-Young (both of London’s current Company) as Miss Forsythe and Howard Wagner/Stanley, Ian Bonar (Young Vic’s Ma Vie en Rose) as Bernard, Trevor Cooper (Chimerica) as Charley, Martins Imhangbe (The Barbershop Chronicles) as Happy, Olivier winner Joseph Mydell (Angels in America) as Ben, Nenda Neurer (White Teeth) as Letta, and Maggie Service (Annie Get Your Gun) as the Woman and Jenny.
Marianne Elliott and Miranda Cromwell will co-direct the Young Vic staging, a co-production with the Elliott & Harper Productions and Cindy Tolan. The production, running through June 29, will feature sets and costumes by Anna Fleischle, lighting design by Aideen Malone, and sound design by Carolyn Downing. Casting is by Charlotte Sutton, CDG.
