Clinton the Musical to Record Original Cast Album | Playbill

News Clinton the Musical to Record Original Cast Album Ghostlight Records will record the original cast album of Off-Broadway's Clinton the Musical, which began previews March 25.

The new musical stars Tony nominee Kerry Butler (Xanadu) as Hillary, as well as Tom Galantich (Tail! Spin!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Duke LaFoon (MONICA! The Musical) as the two different sides of President Clinton.

The recording will take place May 19 for release scheduled later this year.

Clinton the Musical, a satirical portrayal of the 42nd president, has book, music and lyrics by Paul Hodge, book by Paul Hodge and Michael Hodge, direction and choreography by Tony Award nominee Dan Knechtges with musical direction by James Dobinson and orchestrations by Neil Douglas Reilly. It is currently playing New World Stages.

The cast also features Emmy Award winner Judy Gold as Eleanor Roosevelt, John Treacy Egan (Nice Work If You Can Get It, Sister Act) as Newt Gingrich, Veronica J. Kuehn (Mamma Mia!, Avenue Q) as Monica Lewinsky, Kevin Zak (Silence! The Musical) as Kenneth Starr with Kara Guy (National Tour: Footloose), Dale Hensley (La Cage aux Folles, The Drowsy Chaperone), Rob Richardson (Jekyll & Hyde, A Tale of Two Cities), and Gretchen Wylder (Bedbugs!!!, Til Divorce Do Us Part).

The show is produced by Kari Lynn Hearn of CoolChic Productions and executive-produced by Ken Davenport. The creative team includes Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), Tony Award nominee David C. Woolard (costume Design) and Paul Miller (lighting design), along with Peter Fitzgerald (sound design), Tom Watson (hair and wig Design), James Dobinson (musical direction), Michael Rico Cohen (production stage manager) and Neil Douglas Reilly (orchestrations).
