Two-time Tony winner Cherry Jones is Ma Joad in a new revival of The Grapes of Wrath at London's National Theatre, officially opening July 31 after starting previews July 17 on the theatre's Lyttleton stage. The run continues through September 14.

The company is presenting the Tony-winning adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel by Frank Galati, which premiered on Broadway in 1990. The story follows the Joad family as they're forced on an epic journey across America in hopes of finding work and a new life in California. Carrie Cracknell is directing the new staging.

The production features scenic design by Alex Eales, costume design by Evie Gurney, music by Stuart Earl, lighting design by Guy Hoare, sound design by Donato Wahrton, movement direction by Ira Mandela Siobhan, music direction by Osnat Schmool, and intimacy coordination by Katharine Hardman for EK Intimacy. Casting is by Alastair Coomer and Naomi Downham.
Next year, Carnegie Hall's house band will perform Bernstein’s “Kaddish” Symphony, unfinished works by Schubert, and the final concert of Conductor Bernard Labadie.
