National Theatre at Home, the London theatre's international streaming platform, is getting four new titles this winter.
Macbeth, starring Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma, will join the service October 31. The production was filmed live at London's Dock X, with Simon Godwin directing and scenic and costume design by Frankie Bradshaw.
Beginning December 6, the 2019 revival of Noël Coward's Present Laughter, starring Andrew Scott, will become available, co-starring Varma and Sophie Thompson. Matthew Warchus directed this production, which played The Old Vic.
The National's recent revival of Frank Galati's The Grapes of Wrath will also be added to the service December 6. Carrie Cracknell directed the stage adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel, with a cast led by Cherry Jones as Ma Joad, Harry Treadway as Tom Joad, and Natey Jones as Jim Casy.
Also joining this winter on a date to be announced will be the U.K. premiere of Katori Hall's Pulitzer-winning The Hot Wing King, filmed at the National during its run earlier this year. Roy Alexander Weise directed. This last title will not be available to subscribers in the U.S.
NT At Home mostly presents filmed stage productions from the theatre's NTLive series, which broadcasts to movie theatres. Titles in the NT At Home collection can be rented individually, with streaming subscriptions also available.
