Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS annual Broadway Bares Fire Island fundraiser returned to the Pines June 1. Directed and choreographed by Michael Lee Scott, the 2019 event raised a record $78,227.
The Fire Island adaptation of the annual New York City fundraiser featured Bares dancers performing steamy production numbers based on Broadway productions including The Cher Show, On The Town, and more. The show was followed by Bares' signature rotation, where the performers freestyle dance for cash donations. Broadway Bares Fire Island was produced in association with Fire Island Pines Arts Project.
The June 1 performances featured dancers Cesar Abreu, Andres Acosta, Maci Arms, Dave August, Heather Lea Bair, Joe Beauregard, Ian Campayno, Josh Cotham, Anthony Crouchelli, Judah Frank, Lauren Gemelli, Shannon Giles,Matthew Griffin, Justin Henry, Beau Hutchings, Jason Ignacio, Madison Ingles, Sasha Isaeva, Ted Keener, Emily Larger, Frankie Morgan, Zachary Morris, Mark Osmundsen, Drew Reese, Joseph Rivera, Mitchell Wayne, and Sidney Erik Wright.
