Off-Broadway News Casting Announced for Off-Broadway Premiere of Relapse Musical

Joey McKneely will direct and choreograph the new musical about mental health recovery.

Casting has been announced for J. Giachetti and Louis Josephson’s new musical Relapse, which will play Off-Broadway's Theatre Row September 2-23. Tony nominee Joey McKneely will direct and choreograph.

The cast will feature Ashley Alexandra as Margo, Randall Scott Carpenter as Bryan, Mia Cherise Hall as Melinda, Troy Valjean Rucker as Dr. Carlisle, Jacob Ryan Smith (Lizard Boy) as Adam, and Becca Suskauer as Kendra.

The ensemble includes Vinny Celerio, Audrey Hedequist, Nicole Lamb, Zummy Mohammed, Danny Rabinowitz, and Isabel Rodriguez.

Guided by Dr. Carlisle and Nurse Margot, Relapse follows Adam, Bryan, Melinda, and Kendra through their individual journeys of mental health recovery, consumed by the personification of the voices in their head.

Jordon Cunningham serves as music director, alongside assistant music director Lucy O'Brien. The band is comprised of Matt SanGiovanni on guitar, Magda Kress on bass, and Chris McWilliams on drums, led by conductor Cunningham on piano.

Relapse also features scenic and costume design by Sheryl Liu, lighting design by Brian Nason, and sound design by Kyle Jensen. Freyani Patrice is the dance assistant. Sharon Fallon serves as general manager, Curtis Howard is production manager, Brenna Comeau is production stage manager, and Rebecca Batson is associate stage manager.
